Happy midweek / SnowTube day~ ^^ The new issue of GINGER with Snow Man on the cover just came out, and they looked so good I couldn't resist translating their feature. There's three small cross-talks in groups of three about the new single "Orange Kiss", followed by an individual Q&A portion; please enjoy!

~

These 9 colourful people create an infinite number of colours.

Snow Man: Multi-coloured

As a group, Snow Man brings out a diverse array of different colours, and individually as well, they continue to put out a wide variety of their charms. It’s precisely because the 9 of them are so individualistic, that their potential is infinite when they come together. Everyone can shine precisely because each of them is different from the other. Please enjoy the individuality of these 9 members.

Cross-talk

Sakuma x Abe x Raul

Raul: Our new song, “Orange Kiss”, is a wonderful song that talks about love in a really relatable way. I especially like the lyrics that I sing in the first verse. It’s like, ah, you really can put in your best effort when it’s for the sake of the person you love, huh.

Abe: I thought that it was (a song) filled to the brim with a man’s sense of kindness and broad-mindedness – especially around the chorus portion. It helped to accentuate this classic love song, which I thought was wonderful. It makes me feel like I want to protect someone, too.

Sakuma: For me, I think this song would be good as a wedding song, too. It’s like, you’d want to know everything about (your partner), and on top of that you’d want to love and protect every part of them, you know. Rather than “romance”, it’s (a song about) “love”!

Raul: In connection with the lyrics (of the song), they’re asking us about a part of us that’s sweet, or that’s bitter... Isn’t this something that only the person you’re dating would know? We’re not dating anyone yet, so I wouldn’t know (laughs).

Abe: My heart skipped a beat when Raul said “yet”, though (laughs)!

Raul: The sweet part about Abe-chan is that he’s kind all the time, 24/7 I’ve never seen a moment when he’s not sweet. For Sakuma-kun, he can see the good things in people. He’ll compliment them without being calculative about it, and that positivity is great!

Sakuma: If I think something’s good then I’ll definitely want to say it, you know. For me, if there’s something that everyone says is bad, I’ll end up thinking that given that person’s personality it’s actually a pretty good thing. Something good about Raul is, uh… (falls silent).

Abe: It’s because there’s too many (to choose from), right.

Raul: That (silence) just now, that was totally because you had too many options to choose from, and you were picking which one, right? Are you alright?

Sakuma: Ahaha (laughs). For Raul, he can’t joke around with someone if he doesn’t trust them. That’s why when he’s with Snow Man, he’ll tease us with all his might, and his smile when he does that is really cute.

Abe: It’s so healing, to watch him enjoying himself in such a simple, innocent manner! I’d love for him to stay that way (forever).

Raul: I end up wanting to see everyone’s cute side, you know. For Iwamoto-kun, he doesn’t want to actively show (his cute side), so I’d want to make him expose it (laughs).

Sakuma: It’s like, “Ah, I found it~!” (laughs). Abe-chan really thinks about how to make each member’s individuality shine in his Youtube segment, “Abe-chan Sensei”. He really thinks about the members!

Abe: And as for Sakuma, he’ll share and spread around things that he finds fun. I think that’s positive and wonderful of him!

Sakuma: Thanks! I’m the kind who can’t shut up (about stuff), huh (laughs).

Miyadate x Mukai x Meguro

Mukai: “Orange Kiss” sounds like a really bright, sparkling song, but the dance is stylish!

Miyadate: It has a sense of warmth that fits the world in the movie, and it has choreography that anyone can imitate, so I hope that (many people) enjoy it.

Meguro: The parts where we dance in pairs, or where we form a circle and then stand up at the same timing, those bits of choreography were pretty fresh, which made it interesting.

Mukai: I’d like for people’s hearts to skip a beat at the bit where the 9 of us do the kissing move~

Miyadate: It also incorporates sign language, so how about also focusing on the movements of our hands?

Mukai: There’s a lyric that goes “all the sweet parts of you, and all the bitter parts of you, too”, and Meme’s someone who’s exactly like that. During our stage production, there’s a bit where we make eye contact, but he doesn’t do it every time so I’ll be a little thrown off, like, “He did it the last time, though…”.

Meguro: I mean, the one who first started that tactic was Koji, though (laughs). And then when I ask, “Was that deliberate?”, he’ll just try to cover it up by going “No…?”.

Mukai: Well, that’s true (laughs). Recently, Date-san’s been pretty active on variety shows. I feel like I definitely can’t lose to him in the genre of being interesting.

Miyadate: What do you mean by, “the genre of being interesting”? (laughs)

Mukai: Well, well. It’s a good sense of bitterness that comes from being a rival, huh. It adds spice, like the sansho pepper in a grilled eel rice bowl.

Miyadate: The one who pulled out that side of me was you, though, Mukai-san.

Mukai: Oh?

Miyadate: You gave me some sweetness. For Meguro, I feel a slight bitterness when he comes to the set with damp hair, and I worry about whether he’ll catch a cold. Please dry (your hair).

Meguro: I’ve not really used a hairdryer much in my life… But I’ll do my best. I only feel sweetness from Date-san.

Miyadate: I really like the combination of Mukai and Meguro, you know. They appear on the same show, and you can really tell that the two of them go for the shooting after having discussed things between themselves. That friendship and trusting relationship also gets put to use in their acting during our stage productions, and I think that they must spend some good times together.

Mukai: Man, you said such a nice thing!

Miyadate: Ah, then please cut this whole part out.

Mukai: Why?!

Meguro Hahahahaha (laughs).

Fukazawa x Iwamoto x Watanabe

Iwamoto: The lyrics of the new song are simple, which is good, isn’t it. The feeling of being unable to convey your feelings to the person you like, I think that’s cute.

Fukazawa: I really like SHIROSE-san’s lyrics; it was the same for “Kimi no Kareshi ni Naritai.”. Everyone has feelings that they feel towards a person they consider precious; like for us, it’s our fans. There’s choreography that also helps to convey that kind of connection, and it really makes you feel moved.

Iwamoto: It’s the theme song for the movie I’m starring in, “My Boyfriend in Orange”, and the song really matches the setting (of the movie)

Watanabe: As for the dance, out of all our singles so far it has the members coming into contact with each other the most; we’re constantly in contact with a body part of some other member, aren’t we.

Fukazawa: I’m looking forward to seeing it!

Iwamoto: That’s also something that could make your heart skip a beat. Since he spoke up, something sweet about Fukka is that you can really feel that he’s living without thinking about what lies ahead (laughs).

Watanabe: Something bitter (about him) is that he tends to find things troublesome. He’ll take a break immediately.

Fukazawa: But if I don’t take the initiative to call for a break, then everyone would just press on until the end without asking for one, right?

Watanabe: Ah, so you’re saying you’re like our shield, huh. Something sweet about Hikaru is that, even though he looks like this, he’s got a sweet tooth.

Fukazawa: It’s good that he’s strict, but he’s a little nitpicky (about details).

Iwamoto: Shut up (laughs).

Watanabe: That’s his position. That’s why, even though we’ve got someone like this who’s no good…

Fukazawa: Oi! (laughs) Let’s wrap it up here. I’m about to show you my fists, you know.

Iwamoto: Why are you getting riled up? It should be me, if anybody, isn’t it? (laughs) Shota spoils Koji a bunch, you know. For me and Fukka, if Koji comes to meddle around in our dressing rooms we’ll reject him straight away, and after that Shota will come and comfort him.

Watanabe: I mean, Koji would get sulky, otherwise. I’m reluctant to do it, but it’s so that we can maintain the balance.

Iwamoto: That’s what’s sweet about Shota (laughs).

Fukka: What’s bitter about him is that he’s hasty.

Iwamoto: I’m the same as him in that respect, so I don’t really mind it. But when a jokester like Fukka goes too far, Shota will tend to get pulled in, too. Shota, you’ve got to stay on this side of things!

Watanabe: I can’t deny that… I’m a guy who stands on both sides, you know.
