As a note, I'll be changing the way I translate the name of Syoya's sushi column from now on, from "Real Thoughts on Kimata Sushi" to "Real Thoughts with Kimata Sushi"!

Yonashiro Sho x Kawashiri Ren
JO1, a global boys’ group formed out of 11 members chosen from the audition programme “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN”. Their polished performances always draw attention, and their second album has now gone on sale. This time round, we speak with the group’s leader, Yonashiro Sho, and Kawashiri Ren, who leads their performances as the dance leader, about the charm of JO1’s songs and performances, their journey from their CD debut up till now, the conflicts they’ve experienced precisely because of their positions as leaders, and also about their bonds with the other members.

Yonashiro Sho: The members have become able to share their value systems with each other
As the leader of JO1, who are entering their 3rd year, when he looked back at their past, what struck him was that none of the 11 members’ individual selves overlapped with each other, and each of them gave off their own light.

Kawashiri Ren: I’ll believe in my own sense, and aim for the top
From the perspective of Kawashiri Ren, the dance leader who often watches over the other members, it appears that the good thing about the other members is that they “hate to lose”.
