M: How do you feel about going on holiday somewhere?
O: Where?
M: Okayama!
O: Do you have any recommendations?
M: Jeans Street.*
[ T/N: Kojima Jeans Street in Okayama is regarded as the birthplace of Japanese denim, and sells premium denim items. ]
O: I wanna go!
M: Ori, you love clothes, don’t you? You talk about leather, too.
O: I do love them.
M: Well then, we can start out by going for a date at Shimo-Kitazawa*.
[ T/N: Shimo-Kitazawa is a neighbourhood in Tokyo known for vintage clothing. ]
O: Masakado-kun, have you ever been there?
M: When I have work in Tokyo, I have to go home straight after so I’ve never been.
O: It’s nice to go there when you’ve got time to spare. Also, I’d like to go to shops that you recommend in Osaka, Masakado-kun.
M: Let’s go!
O: I want to eat kushi-katsu* in Osaka.
[ T/N: Deep-fried skewers; a popular Osakan street food item. ]
M: I know a good place!
O: We talked about kushi-katsu during “Yarougumi” as well, didn’t we? I wonder if I can go eat some when I’m doing the Osaka shows for my play (Kuroda Ikuyo’s Restaged Tales: “Nami to Kurashite” and “Last Pie”).
M: (checking the schedule) The Osaka shows are over four days in March, huh!
O: I’ll also be headed to Osaka Shochikuza Theatre next year (for “Touzai Johnnys’ Jr. Spring Paradise”)!
M: If our timings match up, let’s go!
O: Let’s cross our fingers! We don’t really get opportunities to work together, do we.
M: That’s true. If there was a chance for a cross-group collaboration, like the Hatsuyume Units* at Johnnys’ Countdown, I’d love to sing “Neko Chuudoku”* with Ori. In the past, when I appeared in Shochikuza Theatre (for “Kansai Johnnys’ Jr. Haru no SHOW Gassen” in 2017), I backdanced for Oonicchan (Onishi Ryusei) together with Kojiken (Kojima Ken), you know.
[ T/N: The Hatsuyume Units were the top-5 “Prince”, “Energetic” and “Sexy” units at the 2021-2022 countdown. Neko Chuudoku is a Tegomass song. ]
O: By the way, what kind of costume would you like to perform that in?
M: We’d wear clothes that look like our regular clothes, and then wear gloves that look like cat paws, and put on cat ears.
O: Ohhh.
M: Well, it’s just because I want to see Ori dressed up in that, though. (laughs)
O: Stop it~ (laughs)
M: You don’t usually wear something like that and dance, do you?
O: I’ve sung “Pet Shop Love Motion”* before, you know.
[ T/N: Hey!Say!JUMP song. Famously this song is performed with the boys dressed as various animals/pets. ]
M: Ehhh, you’d definitely look adorable. I’d also love to see Ori do “Datte, Idol Damon!”* solo.
[ T/N: Ohkura Tadayoshi’s solo song. ]
O: If we performed something together, I’d like to do a number like “T.A.B.O.O.”, which you danced to with Fukumoto (Taisei)-kun previously.
M: It would also be nice for Ori to dance along to the sounds of my guitar playing.
O: Ah, that’s the number one thing we should be doing together! Rather than wearing a onesie, I think a collaboration between a stringed instrument and dance would be a better idea. I’d also like to act opposite you again someday.
M: Oh, like “TakaTen” (“Takara-kun to Amagi-kun”, 2022)?!
O: Eh?
M: Kidding, kidding! (laughs)
O: The other day when I slept overnight in the car, I watched a drama where they go camping and visit various places. It was documentary-like, and had some comedic aspects to it too… How about that?
M: That seems interesting! I’d also like to do some sort of back-and-forth dialogue with you in a straight play*.
[ T/N: Straight play means the stageplay is not a musical, and has no musical elements to it. ]
O: A dialogue, huh… Masakado-kun, you were too amazing in “Vincent in Brixton”, so I can’t casually say that I’d like to act alongside you.
M: I got rejected. (laughs)
O: I’d like to do “Sen, Shoku”! Masakado-kun, you can reprise your role, and I’d play the role that Miura Toko-san played. There was a scene during the play where the two of you did some contemporary dance, wasn’t there?
M: There was! Ori, you’d definitely enjoy dancing to Kuma-san’s (Kumatani Hiroaki) choreography.
O: I’d like to dance to it someday!
