2. Catering sushi handrolls from “Su-Nigiri”
Kimata: We’ve eaten a full meal’s worth of nigiri sushi, but we’re still going strong. The next theme is photogenic sushi handrolls!
Kawanishi: This box is seriously hefty. They wrap it up in a furoshiki (patterned cloth wrapping) when they deliver it, huh.
Kimata: This store, Su-Nigiri-san, used to be a catering-only place, and ELLE-san used to order bentos pretty frequently from them for their fashion shoots and stuff, but it seems that this year they’ve opened a physical storefront!
Kawanishi: It’s pretty stylish. For this “Handroll Sushi Box” they’ve placed each of the ingredients in small ceramic dishes.
Kimata: It’s made so that you can just unpack it as-is, so it’s perfect for home parties. This tiny rice scoop is also really cute!
Kawanishi: Is this sushi rice made with red vinegar? The rice grains are brown. Hm, how do we go about eating this, I wonder.
Kimata: It comes with pre-cut seaweed, so just place the rice on top, like so… It’s been a while since I’ve had handroll sushi!
Kawanishi: Just this (the toppings) alone would be tasty. There’s a bunch of things that could just be eaten on their own.
Kimata: There’s a number of items that aren’t meant to be eaten as part of the handroll, but just on their own as a snack, too! I’m gonna make an oyako* roll with salmon and salmon roe!
[ T/N: Oyako means “parent and child”. Usually used to describe the combination of chicken and eggs, or salmon and salmon roe. ]

Kawanishi: Woah, this pumpkin is delicious. I love pumpkin and sweet potato… My mom put them in my lunchboxes (for school) pretty frequently. She’d cook the sweet potato with oranges and stuff.
Kimata: I’m gonna wrap this seared barracuda with pumpkin~ There’s so many snack items here, like marinated tuna, chicken breast meat cured with konbu seaweed, tuna cheek meat fried with ponzu vinegar, and many more. The imaginative power behind these ingredients born of the chef, who comes from a French gastronomy background, was also really enjoyable. This is truly suited for a party!

3. Best 4 picks of order-in places popular on the Web
Kimata: Last up in the sushi category is the order-in sushi! It seems like there’s delicious sushi that gets delivered to you frozen.
Kawanishi: It seems like these are all sushi recommended this year by Fujin Gaho-san*.
[ T/N: A prominent magazine aimed at housewives. ]
Kimata: They get sent to you frozen, so it’s easy to store them and you can eat them whenever you want to. I often order food through delivery, but I’ve never ordered sushi. If I had this in my freezer I could eat sushi whenever I wanted.
Kimata: First up is temari* sushi from “Umemori”. The sushi rice is made with a special vinegar blend that includes plum vinegar, apparently. It’s really photogenic. Looks delicious!
[ T/N: Sushi rolled into a spherical shape. ]
Kawanishi: Honestly, I’m already full, but I think I could manage something of this size.
Kimata: I’m totally game to eat more! I’ll start with this “Rose!” one. I wonder if it’s made with turnip or something?
Kawanishi: That’s not a rose shape, but a tsubaki. Tsubaki in English is… “camellia”?
Kimata: “Camellia!”. Takumi-kun, let’s do it together. “Rose!”
Kawanishi: Ah, I really like this one. Syoya, you ate it in a single bite, huh.
Kimata: That’s right, I usually eat (sushi) in a single bite. This is like a palate-cleanser sushi, huh. Like when you need to clear your palate. It’s got some yuzu in it, which is refreshing.
Kawanishi: If it’s something like this, do you think even (Shiroiwa) Ruki-kun could eat it?
Kimata: Since it’s something like vegetarian sushi…? We’ve still got sushi from other places to try so I know I need to save some stomach space, but just let me have one more piece! We haven’t had any scallop yet today so I’ll take this scallop one that’s topped with salmon roe… (counts to see if there are as many spheres of salmon roe as there are Dragon Balls*)
[ T/N: There are 7 Dragon Balls in total. ]
Kawanishi: Man, you sure can eat a lot.
