Hello!! Sorry I ended up taking such a long hiatus from Noemaru translations ;o; I was facing a bit of translation fatigue, and so to combat that, I've decided that for future Noemaru translations I'll be cutting out the Q&A and only translating the main portions! Hope that's okay ;o;

For this month, Yvon pigscanflyy_tj had already translated a short excerpt from the entry about concert uchiwas, and she's graciously let me use her translation inside my translation of this month's issue! She did a great job + got it done way faster than me (haha) so please send her lots of love too ;o;

Noemaru regular update - 14 January 2023, 6pm JST

I don’t know how many times you’ve heard someone say this already, but…

Happy new year! 🌅

It’s still “the start of the new year”, after all!

Also, according to tradition, the New Years’ festivities (matsu-no-uchi) can last up till the 7th or the 15th day of the new year, you know! Haha!

[ T/N: Matsu-no-uchi, or literally “the pine period”, is the traditional period for which people were to keep up the pine decorations outside their houses for the New Year, stemming from the belief that the gods who would visit and bless their households over the New Year would only visit houses decorated with pine. The general practice for most regions in Japan, including Kanto, is that matsu-no-uchi lasts 7 days, though there are some regions that observe matsu-no-uchi for a 15-day period. ]

Alright, and with that, let’s head on to the first Noemaru regular update of 2023!

We’re working towards “Travis Japan Debut Concert 2023 THE SHOW ~Tadaima, Okaeri~”, which will be starting up in 2 weeks’ time on 28 January 2023,

And we’re right in the middle of rehearsals now!

We’re brainstorming a ton of things every day, dancing a lot, rehearsing many things, and generally running around so that we’ll be prepared enough to enjoy the actual day to the maximum extent, with ease! ☺️

We’re dancing so much!

I mean, it’s fun to, after all!

That’s how we do entertainment, after all, and I think it’s the most important contributing factor to be able to spend a fun time together with all of you!

Well, but that’s all for the tour spoilers!

All I’m saying is that “we’ll be dancing a ton!” (lol)

I’ll say it over and over again! (lol)

Well, I bet some of you would be like, “well, duh, of course (you’d be dancing a lot)!”,

And if you say that, I’ll be super happy, because that means you know Travis Japan reallyyyyyyyyy well! (*´꒳`*)

Well, we’re going to be doing a lot of things.

I mean, it’s our debut concerttttt, you knowwww!

It’s not (just) a dance competition, you knowwww!

It’s our long-awaited tour that we’ve been aiming for, you knowwww!

It’s where we can tell you, “we’re home!”

We’d like to say “welcome home!”, and we’d also like to say “we’re home!”

We’ll say “welcome home!” from the bottom of our hearts and embrace you tightly ☺️

On days when you go out, or go on a date, on days like that when you’re pumped up,

You’ll make preparations ahead of time, you’d go to the salon to get ready, you’d get new clothes, you’d doll yourself up,

It all takes some time, doesn’t it?

It might take up time, but you’d of course want to give it your best shot when it’s the thing you’ve been looking forward to the most, right?

It’s not the same as just taking a casual stroll around the neighbourhood.

It’s the same for me.

We’ve kept you waiting a bit, but in lieu of that I think we’ll be able to share a wonderful time with all of you ✨

So that’s why,

Whatever the case is, let’s just enjoy it 🐇

Oh, yes! I wanted to say this!

If we happen to meet at the venue on the day itself,

I’d like to spend the entire time joyfully with you.

So because of that, I want to make sure I minimise the things I’d have to worry about on the day itself.

What I can do right now is stuff like choreography and production, making sure I properly remember the things I will be talking about, and making sure the visuals are great! (Man, I’m setting a high hurdle for myself!!)

U-u-uh, I’ll work hard! 💪

I’ll desperately work on the preparations!💪

If I don’t, then we won’t be able to make meaningful use of our precious time together, after all! (lol)

And so, I’ve got a favour to ask of you.

I’m sure that you’ve also got a lot of preparations you’ve got to make on your end.

You’ve got to confirm your tickets, decide what you’re going to wear, and probably make a whole bunch of bookings, right?

Maybe you have an uchiwa that you’ve always been using?

Like uchiwas that are larger than the regular size,

If the gift you brought for me was of the wrong size, rather than being happy, I’d be kinda sad… is that how I should put it? That would be larger than the happiness…

I’m 173cm so I can’t wear a 200cm coat… that’s troubling…

You know about me… right…? 😭

I can see it even if it’s not big.

Of course I want to see your uchiwa, but I want to see your face most of all. Don’t hide it.

This year, 2023, we’re preparing for many things, not just our concert.

I’ve also managed to get back to my individual work with a vengeance!

Just like I said before we went over to the US, I haven’t forgotten what we learned over there on how to open up new paths, and because it’s know-how that can be reproduced, I’ll build things up again here without fear!

From now on, in order to mesmerise you with my steady advancement, I’ve also resumed my studying, just like before!

I’m going to do more and more.

Which Noel is the Noel you know?

Did you meet him at a stage production? A concert? On TV? In a magazine? On the radio? On Youtube? Through social media? Or from Noemaru?

I tried to write them out, but then I realised that I really had been given the opportunity to be active on so many platforms.

To be able to do this kind of work, that is my true duty.

When I was newly born, all I needed to do was to be born safely.

All I needed to do was stay healthy.

As I grew older, those expectations on me grew larger and larger, and I’ve been working hard to meet those expectations.

Someday, I’ll start working towards achieving my own expectations, and towards the way of living that I want for myself.

(That goal is) to be the number 1 in class? Number 1 in the academic year?

Nope, right now, I want to be your number 1.

I’ll live my life enjoyably and aspire to do many things, and if I could achieve that goal on my own, together with Noe-tans, and everyone who supports me, I’d definitely be happy.

I’ve got to get popular this year!

I’ve got to become popular, do all sorts of things, and then live together with Noe-tans in a world that Noe-tans have never seen before, and that I’ve never shown to any of you before.

What’s great about being an idol is that I get to share many of my firsts with you ✌️

I wanna experience many firsts~! We only have one life to live, after all~!

Rather than live a life where I do the same thing every day on repeat, I’d rather try out a lotttttt of thingssssss, even if it means I’ll face some failures!

I wanna do lots of stuff, like concerts and stage shows and radio and TV and magazines!

I wanna do voice-related work and writing-related work, toooooo!!

Because I want to meet you in many different forms!

I want to meet you across many different platforms!

And so, in order to achieve that…!

It’s definitely better if I get popular!

2023! The training period is over! This year, let’s progress forward together!

Of course, our progress won’t stop, okay.

Let’s make this year that we can enjoy freely, without being afraid of anything; let’s make this a year full of joy
