Sato Keigo x Kawashiri Ren x Shiroiwa Ruki x Tsurubo Shion

Do you spend a lot of time in the bath? Or not that much?

Sato: I spend an incredibly long time. If the water’s hot, I’ll usually end up spending like, an hour, normally. There’s times where I fall asleep in there, I’m the type to take my time in the bath and let go of my exhaustion.

Kawashiri: I take a long time, too. But I often combine bath time with doing treatment, so actually I don’t spend that long soaking in the hot water.

Shiroiwa: Me too. When I have time, I’ll draw the hot water and soak in it in the morning and night time, and end up taking a bath twice in a day.

Tsurubo: I take a long time, too.

Shiroiwa: You take a long time? You seem like you’d be quick, though.

Tsurubo: I take around 30 minutes.

Shiroiwa: That’s short, to me. I tend to take 1-2 hours.

Tsurubo: That’s just strange (laughs). Why do you take that long?

Shiroiwa: I’ll sit in the bathtub and watch a movie. I’ll add in bath salts and set the temperature to automatically stay at 41 degrees. There’s a function to keep the water at the temperature you set.

Kawashiri: I didn’t know that. Eh~!! That’s really great, isn’t it.

Tsurubo: If I’m not taking a soak in the bath I’ll take about 5 minutes. That’s why 30 minutes for me is pretty long.

Do you take long to wash up?

Sato: I take a long time, too.

Kawashiri: I also take a pretty long time in the washroom, I think. Since our job’s one where we stand in front of others, I end up spending time on skincare no matter what.

Previously, Kawashiri-san, you mentioned that you spend quite some time brushing your teeth.

Kawashiri: Previously, I’d brush them while in the bath, but recently I bought an electric toothbrush so I brush them in the washroom, now.

Shiroiwa: I don’t think I take that long. I’ll spray some mist on my face, put on moisturiser and cream, and that’s it. It’s probably under 10 minutes in total.

Tsurubo: That’s long, for me. I take about 2 minutes, you know. I wipe my face, put on moisturiser, put on my clothes and that’s it.

Sato: I take so long because I use a lot of skincare goods. I use a lot of shampoo, rinse and body soap, and I use so much moisturiser that you’d be like, “You don’t need that much!”; I just keep on adding a little more here and there, so I end up taking a while.

Are you the type to spend time in your room quietly? Or do you spend it enjoyably?

Kawashiri: I spend my time enjoyably and quietly. Generally, I play games. I battle online with the members and others I don’t know.

Tsurubo: I’ll watch YouTube on my phone while playing YouTube on the TV.

Shiroiwa: What’s with that?

Tsurubo: I’ll play some BGM on YouTube through the TV, and then watch a wide variety of videos on my phone.

Sato: I’m also the type to relax in quiet. The time I spend on my phone is really long, and like Shion I’ll often play music or some videos on the TV randomly while doing other things.

Shiroiwa: For me, when I’m gaming or singing I’ll be noisy, but when I’m watching videos or a movie I’ll be quiet. There’s times when I practice singing, so I’ll find the karaoke track of songs I like on YouTube and sing along.

Sato: What if you buy a karaoke machine? There’s one in my parents’ house.

Shiroiwa: I’ve thought about that. But I figured it wouldn’t work because I don’t have soundproofing.

Tsurubo: I can hear quite a bit of your singing, you know.

Is your room tidy? Messy?

Sato: Well, it’s tidy, I’d say.

Kawashiri: I have a lot of things, but I do put them away neatly.

Sato: Hehehe (laughs).

Kawashiri: What’s with that reaction (laughs).

Sato: Nah, I was just wondering what it actually looks like.

Kawashiri: In that case, do you want to come over?

Sato: I want to!! Speaking of which, I’ve not been to the rooms of these three members. I don’t have many things in my room. It doesn’t feel very lived-in. I’m the type who wants to store away as much as I can, so I stuff it all in my closet, and I don’t really like to leave garbage lying around so I‘ll throw it away immediately, too. It’ll weigh on my mind if it’s all scattered about, like it feels uncomfortable even though it’s my own room (laughs).

If you were to rank the tidiness of your room among the members, where would you rank in?

Sato: I’d be 1st or 2nd place.

Kawashiri: That’s right. My impression of Keigo’s room is somewhere around there. I’d want to be in the top half of the ranking.

Shiroiwa: I’d hope to be in the top half. I don’t have many things in my room, and I don’t really own things that aren’t necessary. I don’t buy unnecessary things, and if I’m not going to use something I’ll dispose of it. For Shion, recently Sukai and I called him up and were like, “We’re going to come over to your room now”, and he blew us off like “My room’s really seriously messy right now so don’t. It’s real bad right now.” (laughs).

Tsurubo: It was monstrous, that time (laughs). I cleaned up a week after that. I’m the type to do all my cleaning at once. But right now, my things are pretty scattered about again.

Shiroiwa: It becomes disorderly so quickly~ (laughs)

What do you have scattered about your room?

Tsurubo: Mostly clothes. I’ll properly throw away things I ate, but plastic bottles and stuff tend to pile up, too.

Sato: You should hang your clothes on a hanger when you return, right? Why are they scattered about? You take them off and then just leave them there?

Tsurubo: Yup, that’s it. So in terms of the ranking, I think I’d be 2nd from the bottom.

Sato: Who are you fighting with (for last place)? (laughs)

Tsurubo: (looks around) Hm~. Everyone seems like they’d be pretty tidy.

Kawashiri: Wouldn’t it be Syoya?

Kimata: (happens to pop by) What?

Sato: We’re talking about our ranking of how cool everyone is.

Kimata: I see~♪

Shiroiwa: You deceived him well (laughs).

Please expose your “REAL” selves!

Sato: I don’t really put up much of a front, so you can say anything and I’ll be fine. But I don’t think there’s anything left that JAMs don’t know about.

Kawashiri: Keigo eats a ton of bananas. You’ll eat like 2 or 3 in a day, right?

Sato: I’ll buy a bunch of 3 from the convenience store, and eat them before practice, during break or after practice. I’ve heard that it’s good to eat bananas when you practice.

Kawashiri: It’s because they’re very energy-efficient.

Sato: I wonder what there is for Ren-kun~ Hm~. On the contrary, I don’t think there’s anything to reveal? Please reveal something yourself (laughs).

Kawashiri: Yesterday I got really irritated about something, you know. My mood improves when I get the timing right on something, like when I set the microwave to 40 seconds, and in that time I’ll fold my laundry and get back in front of the microwave just in time for the timer to beep. I like the way it feels efficient. So yesterday, after my schedule for the day was done I estimated the time (to get home) and ordered delivery so it would arrive just as I reached home. The intercom rang just as I reached, and I received the food in high spirits, like “This timing is the best”, but then I realised that the soup inside had all spilled, so my mood plummeted entirely (laughs).

Sato: That’s tough. Did you call in to complain?

Kawashiri: I didn’t, but I left a bad review for the first time (laughs).

Shiroiwa: My reveal is what I said earlier about Shion’s room being a mess (laughs).

Tsurubo: (laughs) I acknowledge that. My reveal is that recently, I went for a dance lesson with Ruki-kun, Sho-kun, Junki-kun, Syoya and Sukai, and it had some stretching stuff in it, but because we ended up sitting for really long (doing the stretches), everyone’s concentration slowly faded over time. At that time, when I looked over at Ruki-kun’s face, he seemed that he’d broken past his limits and reached a truly blank state of mind, and I thought “Oh no, I’ve seen Ruki-kun’s peak” (laughs).

Shiroiwa: (bursts out laughing) I didn’t do that consciously, but it must’ve seemed like I’d experienced some kind of enlightenment, huh.

Please let us know the parts of each other that you think are great (Love) and what you think should be fixed (Hate).

Kawashiri: There was a time when I shared a hotel room with Keigo, when we went to South Korea for the production of our single. I’m the type to do a lot of preparations before heading out, and Keigo also does the same so he wakes up early, and so it was like I’d wake up to the sound of Keigo waking up, which was a great help. What I Hate was that in the hotel he wouldn’t go into the bath, and would just fall asleep while playing around with his phone.

Sato: Ren-kun watches the members dance and gives us lots of advice, and I think he really does think a lot about the group. That’s what I Love. On the flip side, I think he does think too much about the group, which I Hate. He sees too many things and tends to stash them away (within himself), so I think it’d be fine for him to be calmer about these things.

Shiroiwa: There’s many things I Love about Shion. He isn’t influenced by anything and sticks to his guns, and he really has confidence in that, so he’s really mentally strong. I really respect how manly he is, and I think it’s wonderful.

Tsurubo: Thank you. I think Ruki-kun’s smile is great. When I say a joke, usually the one who laughs will be Ruki-kun, you know.

Shiroiwa: My sense of humour is similar to Shion’s, I think.

Tsurubo: It’s really a big help. There isn’t really anything I’d like him to fix~

Shiroiwa: I too don’t really have anything I’d say I’m dissatisfied with.
